Funny stories about walking up the East Coast of the U.S. and the characters encountered along the way, with snide commentary about trail governance and historical figures (Thoreau is dismissed as “inestimably tiresome and priggish”, a delightful if undeserved phrase). The story loses momentum about halfway through, though, and most of what I found funny was in the first half too.
